D...

D is for...

When it comes to daily routines the number one on your list is probably waking up early. Okay, so I was wrong in saying that biking and swimming are the only things I can't do. Heck! Waking up early is so friggin' hard. I can't even send myself into bed early. So before April ends, I'm not only going to commit myself into blogging everyday but also I want to establish healthy habits.

  1. Sleep early at the same time each night.
  2. Wake up as early as 5 in the morning.
  3. Exercise.
  4. Make a list of To-Do List from Sunday to Saturday.
  5. Drink plenty of water.
  6. Less coffee intake.
  7. Stop worrying.
  8. Prioritize.
  9. Read a little before going to bed.

So this is what I've come up with so far. And I wanna hear your thoughts. Maybe you have suggestions to make this list better. Perhaps you want to share your own list too. Or complain about how slow my blog loads. (Or is just because of slow internet connection? Please let me know if it's slow.)

  1. These are great aspirations! I've got #5 down. The rest would be tough for me but worthwhile goals. Does reading blogs before bed count? If so, I've got #9 down, too. I read them on my phone (and start most of my posts that way, too!).

    1. It's good to know that you're making progress! By the way, I've read it on reader's digest that it is better to read books rather than watching t.v and using computers before going to bed. But anyways, thanks for dropping by and happy A-Z-ing! :)

  2. I also struggle with getting up early. Even when I moved closer to work, I still struggle getting up early, though I have a shorter commute. Good luck!

  3. I think #7 will happen if you can do the others--even a little bit. I've had luck with taking smaller bites of change instead of huge goals. It's just more manageable, less daunting. I wrote about it and it's helped me: Bite-Size Change. Maybe it'll be helpful for your list!
Glad to see you on A to Z!

  5. My list looks like that, except 5 in the morning - that would never happen for me...I am aiming at like 9 in the morning during weekends. I think you shouldn't try to do all these changes at once, start with one for a week and then add another one.

    1. More like sleeping at 5am >_< Making changes one step at a time. You're right. Coz right now it's already 2 in the morning and I haven't followed my first goal on the list. Simple things yet it's pretty darn difficult. Thanks for dropping by! <3

  6. I've been trying to get up at 5a.m. since this school year started. So far I've managed to turn the coffee on and go back to bed until I absolutely have to get up and get the kiddo off to school.

  7. Great resolutions. I've managed to start a daily exercise routine, well all but 4 days since January 1. Still trying to drink more water and go to bed early. It's really difficult to overcome years of bad habits.

  8. My internal alarm wakes me at 4:45 no matter what time I go to bed, guess it's a holdover from those many years to rising early to go to work. After I dress it's out to the gym 6 days a week, after some time on the computer and a few chores my time is spent on art or reading, or writing. My lists are sort of ingrained. Like all of yours, except--Don't mess with my coffee! Visiting from A-Z

  9. I spent about 3 weeks getting up at 5am to go to the gym to work out. Then I stopped. Apparently it wasn't enough time to get that habit ingrained, or I just really need that extra sleep. :)

  10. I find to-do lists exciting. They help me unclutter my mind.

  11. Actually, I'm here because of your avatar photo. I have that t-shirt. It's very cool.

But, since I am here, I like to fantasize about not having a routine, because it's by having a routine that always leads to people being assinated in movies.

    1. I couldn't help but nod in agreement. Reminds me of the movie The Mechanic.

Wow you and Sheldon have the same shirt. How cool is that?! Thanks for dropping by! :)

  13. Going to bed earlier is definitely something I struggle with.

  14. I divide my day up into blocks of time and focus on certain activities during each block. I think that I am so much more productive that way.

In order to stick with those blocks of time, going to bed and getting up at the same time every day is also really important. I also eat breakfast and lunch at the same time every day. It just helps keep everything on schedule for me.

  15. Good list! I need to do the vast majority of things on there, too. I've had insomnia since middle school, but finally worked it out and can now sleep like a normal human being. However, two decades of being on a wonky schedule have affected me negatively, and I can't fall asleep before 3AM most of the time. I'm trying to reset my internal clock. Good luck to you!

  16. What a great list! I went through a period of severe depression some years ago and I completely empathise with the need to get routines like these in place. I'm a 'morning person' by nature, but depression sure knocked that out of me; I remember that.

Your list is such a good, general healthy list to that I can only add 'thanks for the reminder'. Good luck with your process.
